What is LWLS about?

Ladies Who Lunch Seriously(LWLS) is a North Shore, Auckland based lunchtime networking group whose aim is to connect fabulous women in business and in life.The group recognises that women have limited time so make good use of a lunchtime to inform, entertain and network!

How do I become a member?

You join LWLS via the website. The joining fee is kept low to cover the costs of the website and administration.

What benefits do I get as a member?

You will immediately receive a welcome e mail from us explaining all of the benefits. These include a seriously good reduction on event costs! Also, you will receive the exclusive LWLS pink pen, discounts on many great products and services and a listing on the website in the members directory.

I would like to come along to a meeting and promote my business how do I book this?

We can provide a great platform for businesses or individuals wanting to promote their products and services to our lunch guests.We can offer a table for displaying products and a brief speaking ‘platform’ to address guests. Please contact alison@lwls.co.nz or further details.

What is the format of one of your interesting speaker events?

Our guests arrive at 12 noon at the North Shore Golf Club, 51 Appleby Road, Albany where they re given a namebadge and then mix and network with other guests. At 12.30 a buffet lunch is served. At 12.45, our guest speaker is introduced and talks for approximately 40 minutes.We understand that our guests may have limited time so we aim to finish the main part of the lunch by 1.30pm. However there is still plenty of time to linger and keep chatting with others over coffee in a relaxed and unrushed atmosphere.

What is the format of one of your amazing networking events?

Every now and then we will hold a purely networking lunch. This provides our guests with the opportunity to meet and mingle with like minded women and connect – either on business matters or on a more social basis.

Will I get the chance to do a brief introduction of myself and my business to your lunch guests?

LWLS dedicate the first 30 minutes of the lunch to informal networking and mingling. We have a coloured dot system that encourages guests to ‘break the ice’ with other similar coloured dotted guests. This is very informal and not compulsory but we have found this allows guests to meet lots of new people! There are opportunities for members to sponsor an event which provides them with a 5 minute presentation spot to present their business/services/products.

Please contact alison@lwls.co.nz to discuss this. The benefits you will receive include:

- 5 minute presentation spot (if required) to our guests
- 1 display table on entry to display products etc
- Mention in the LWLS newsletter and website

Why are your events at lunchtime only?

Research has shown that the time that women have available is limited and there is more pressure on evening time. We listened to that feedback and developed the concept of networking over lunch. Even in today’s busy schedule, stopping for lunch once a month seems to be the preferred route of many women for networking!

Is Ladies Who Lunch Seriously for North Shore ladies only?

We welcome members and guests from throughout Auckland…and beyond!

How did you come up with the name, seriously?!

We aim to provide our guests with a great platform to network but in a fun and relaxed manner. The name was chosen to reflect our philosophy of not taking life too seriously but to enjoy it, and the people you have yet to meet, along the way!
